Back Hi everyone,
I've searched the archive for this group and all I could find was how to create an empty cylinder (and alikes). Very helpful, though, but not what I am looking for.
My question : how to do this simple thing.. (see the link)
http://homepage.mac.com/carbmac/untitled.jpg
I come from Bryce 5 (Corel version). In Bryce, it's simple. Create the bigger sphere, make it positive. Create the smaller sphere, make it negative. Group the two and voil?!
However, I have not yet fiound a way to do this in Carrara Basics. It seems pretty simple in Carrara Studio (boolean substract, as I read in tutorials), but I must be missing something in Basics.
I tried various ways in the Spline editor, but I could not find a way to make this empty sphere inside a solid sphere. I also tried to create an empty form alone, and then group with a solid object. Problem is, the solid object fills the empty one (rather than being emptied with the empty one...) All this to say, I'm on the verge of loosing my mental sanity (not that I had a lot before... hehe!)
Thanks for any help you can provide. If this problem's only solution is to go Carrara Studio, then I know what I'm gonna ask Santa for xmas.. :)
