Hi Mike, :)

Well, I have a request that I hope you can help me out with.  This
past week I have been dealing with scenes that contain *a lot* of
objects in them.  At times I wanted to make certain objects "child
objects" of others in the Instance list.  Sometimes the Instance list
was so long that it made dragging and dropping cumbersome.

I was wondering if there was a way that you could create a simple
plugin that would allow a user to select two objects, and in the order
they were selected, make one object the child of the other?  Actually
I was thinking along the lines of how the "Align" tool works:  you
select Object A in the scene, then shift+click ad select Object B,
then go to the Edit menu, and select the Align option, select your
axes, and Object B would become aligned to Object A.  However, in the
"Child to Parent" tool, Object B would become the *child* of Object A.

I was also thinking of another version where there could be a simple
dialogue box where a user could type in the name of Object A in the
"Parent" field and then type in the name of Object B in the "Child"
field, hit the okay button, and then Object B would become a child of
Object A.  Perhaps there could even be multiple fields of individual
groups of children?

How does either of these sound to you?  Does either one sound doable?

Could you please let me know?

Thanks. :)

Claudia
