Eric,

Wow, I've been waiting for this shader for literally 12 years. Back in 1993 I
was a product
manager for a company (now sadly defunct) that made 3D software and I had
suggested
exactly this type of rendering feature to the other guys, but nothing came of
it. More
recently I suggested it to Eovia. Still no luck... until... today.

I'm interested to see how this shader interacts with blurred reflections. I've
discovered that
smoothed geometry with blurred reflections renders MUCH more slowly than
faceted
geometry, but that bump maps with blurred reflections are actually fairly quick
. If your
shader works like a bump map them I wonder if it too will render quickly with
blurred
reflections. That's all I ever wanted. Rounded corners and blurred reflections
- you know,
the way things are in real life.

You, good sir, are the man.

- Joe
