Looks like a convincing work through, please let us know when this is added.
The lighting of individual shaders alone makes it a valuable plug-in I
think. I wish I had the depth of knowledge about this part of the program as
you do. I also wish I knew lighting better. One of the things I keep finding
myself struggling with are the range drop off and falloff and so forth in
the spots and bulbs. I find myself guessing a lot as to the effect of each
change and if you are rendering with zero ambient and GI on then even
previewing small areas can take up time. You can set the range in a bulb at
10 Inches and falloff at 20% for instance, but honestly, I can't tell what
10 inches is in the assembly room and where exactly the light stops. It
would make me very happy to see something that shed more light on this
topic. (Okay, the pun was bad) Like a wire-frame light cone or sphere of
influence pre-viewer for spots and bulbs etc. The white circle in the
falloff is helpful on spots, but really what else is there to guide you
other than guessing or rendering a preview? I still need to learn more on
lighting I suppose.

Thanks again,

Steve

Steve,

I did a quick experiment and it looks like the Layers List shader
overrides any lighting model you try to assign to a shading domain so
right now you can only do it globally as far as shading domains go.

The Multi Channel Mixer respects lighting models so you could limit
where it applies using that. Drop a shader or texture in the mixer that
highlights where you want the bevels, drop two copies of the same shader
in each Source and then apply the Bevel lighting model to one of those.
