Eovia may be relying on Hexagon and Amapi for modeling but it seems to me that the users of Carrara should be able to rely on Carrara for modeling. Is Carrara not Eovia's frontline product?
I really have been impressed with the progress Eovia has made improving Carrara over the years. They have worked hard and should be proud of what they have accomplished, but the modelers in Carrara still need an overhaul. I know alot people animate in one package and rely on a different modeler, no matter what animation/rendering program they have chosen, but why neglect obvious shortcomings. I believe it was Eovia's recognition of these short comings in Carrara's modelers that prompted them to package Amapi Designer with the Pro version.
I just want to see Carrara fulfill all the potential it has. Carrara could be the best all round 3d solution on the market for under a 1000 dollars. The foundation is already laid, why not dare to be the BEST? The competition is tough. There are lots of apps out there with a whole lot to offer in the same price range and I'm just trying to cheer the hometeam on to greatness. :-)
