Hi Fulvio (u? pais?)
in my experience there are some advantges using NURBS, especially regarding speed and performance, but in some cases it depend mostly on wich app you use to create NURBS (Solidthinking and Rhino are really good). There are some difficults to shade it if you need complex textures because NURBS are used especially in industrial design projects and much different form polygons regarding surfaces, but if you use procedural you can have good results.
