Hi, its me!
Okay so that bunch of almost completely illegable junk in my e-mail address,
has nothing to do with my name, its really David.
Anyway, I'm gonna need some help.
For years I've been using Blender. She gets the job done, as you can see from

But, she doesn't have nearly the power of Carrara, and has none of the cool
features. (If Carrara's modeling program were better, I'd take blender off my
system and just use it. Sadely, I can't get a feel for it though, blender just
seems easier.) In the shot above are some examples of some things I need help
with.
First, I'd like to do this shot with Carrara's terrain editor for the floating
islands, however, A: the terrian is too flat and square. I'd like to round off
the edges and give the islands rocky roots like in the picture. Ideas anyone?
Second, how does one make smoke for a still shot? A flame spurt? Suggestions
for explosions?
Finally, the smaller ship is suppose to have a large transparent shell
protecting it. How can I make a trasparent material in Carrara?
