Also like Carrara the price point is very good compared to the others in the
3D market.

 While I'd be very happy if Eovia threw in the "kitchen sink" too, it would
 cost more and take longer.

 I like the "open" nature (like Photoshop plugins; and other s/w apps) in
 that Eovia won't think of everything and plugin developers react quickly
and
 provide you a choice for where you spend any extra $.

 And, eventually Eovia does build-in many of the plugins in future
versions.

 Eovia has to decide which features appeal most to their target audience
and
 manage their development costs and timing; so everything doesn't show up
in
 release 1.0 or else it would be in 2008.

 But I respect your opinion too.

 I like Carrara but the one thing that annoys me is the fact that I
 have to pay extra for standard features like displacement mapping. I
 dont want to take away from the hard work others have done with the
 plugins they produce but its just one thing that always niggled me.
 I know it still sometimes ends up cheaper with Carrara and extra
 plugins but it still seems strange that displacement is not an
 integral part of it.
