Back It's not grouped right Lee?
First thing that comes to mind.If it's a single object you should be able to scale the axis in the assemble room or manually inputting the scale size in the properties tray.

I don't have a manual around...
& this problem has happened to me in Carrara3 before...
I'm rescaling an object, & I only want to change the dimension in one axis...
but somehow C3 decided it wants to change the whole object proportionately in all axis'...
how do you "turn-off" this override?....
I swear I'm going to tattoo the answer on my arm!...
