OT: My AdventureThis Week -- A Miracle!

Well, my little adventure this week may not have been as cool as
Naomi's, but I did get to visit my gardens this past
Friday I am a member of (I hadn't visited there for some time due to
the gas crunch), and guess what I got to see?  Well, okay...after I
almost stepped on one of them by accident....  I got to see baby
snapping turtles hatching and emerging from the ground!  They reminded
me of oil bubbling up from the earth, there were so many.  It was a
very wonderful and rare site to witness.  Not only did I contact the
Park Supervisor and Groundskeeper who came immediately to take part in
the event, as well as make sure that they were heading to the small
lake okay, but several visitors passing by also stopped to take part
in the occasion.  Unfortunately I didn't have a camera with me [ of
all days to not have one ;( ], but I did find an image on the Net
which looks exactly like the event as we saw it:

And here is a pic that helps show you their size when they are born [
they are really tiny...and cute :) ]:

I got to pick up and hold a few up so I could examine them more
closely.  And of course we made sure they were put back at their nest
as well as made sure they headed off in the right direction.

It was really a great show...reminded me of the movie "March of the
Penguins" [which if you haven't seen yet, please do! :) ]

But this has taught me one thing...never go to the gardens without a
camera...you never know when little miracles may occur. :)

Cheers.
