I have several questions for anyone on the list that does or has done any
animation in a
professional capacity, either 2d or 3d. I currently teach at a technical
college that has
plans to develop an animation degree for gaming, video and various multimedia.
Any
feedback will be greatly appreciated. I would also appreciate some info on your
credentials: Your name, background, projects and where you work(ed).

1) What skills are required to enter the field of animation as an entry
level animator?
2) What are some of the job titles associated with animation?
3) What would the average pay level be for an entry level animator?
4) What types of technology would an entry level animator utilize on a
daily basis?
5) What would you say are the employment opportunities in our area like
for entry
level animators?
6) Which seems to be most important: 2D or 3D animation? How much of the
program
should be 2D vs 3D?
7) What other skills/technologies should an animator know to be an entry
level
animator?
8) What type of education is required for a person to enter the field of
animation as an
entry level animator?
9) What skills/experience should a teacher of animation have?
10) What are some names of local companies that hire animators?
11) What type of facilities would be needed to support an academic animation
program?
12) Are there any other issues you see for a student in animation?
