This kills the threading mechanism in the web archive and local email

Your problem has nothing to do with Flash. The web server is returning a
404 error. This is probably because it is a UNIX server and your HTML
file is actually named HighVelocities.html (or some such) and your
trying to access it as highvelocities.html which is not the same thing
on a UNIX based server. Remember, UNIX (FreeBSD, Linux, etc) all have
case sensitive file systems. The other possibility is that the web
server does not have permission to view the file. But since the SWF when
accessed directly works that is not likely the case.

First of Dreamweaver does not create Flash content. It can embed Flash
movies created externally into HTML pages but it doesn't actually create
the Flash movie.

There are many products for creating Flash content. Some of them are
very limited like A4Desk and SWiSH but good for what they're designed to
do (such as just creating text animations or other basic or simple
elements) and can be a usefully tool for the professional Flash
developer. But a pro would never just use one of those tools. If you
intend to be a professional web designer and Flash developer there are
only two tools in my opinion for this, Macromedia Dreamweaver and
Macromedia Flash. You can get them both for about $900. Or for the same
price you can get the Studio MX 2004 which includes both products plus
FireWorks MX 2004 (a very nice bitmap graphic editor), FreeHand MX (a
very nice vector graphic editor) and the Developer Edition of ColdFusion
MX 6.1. Now if you just buy Flash MX 2004 (don't get the Pro version
unless your already a major coder of some sort) for $499 that is a lot
of money. But nothing else that is made to do the same thing is as
capable or has the features that Macromedia Flash does. If this is just
a hobby and you want to save $400 or more then just get SWiSH, A4Desk or
a similar product. They will definitely get you by. But if you intend to
build RIAs or anything truly advanced there is no other option than
Macromedia Flash.

Oh and don't think that using A4Desk or any of the other similar
products will prime you for Macromedia Flash. The Flash IDE is not at
all like anything else that tries to imitate it. Well, SWiSH is similar.
But I always get confused when I try to use it because many of the
differences are pretty substantial.  :)
