Back My flash site http://www.highvelocities.com/ no matter what I do will not load up. Im using a satrter page called index.htm with a java applet on it as an entry point. Then the next page is http://www.highvelocities.com/highvelocities.html I would like to shorten that second page up to something llike hv or main but I can do that later I reckon, my main problem now is I cant get the flash page to load. I know nothing about flash so I bought A4Desk with ready made templates just to get something up there I could work with that looks beter than nothing. The source code on the second page is as follows:
<html><head> <meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache"> <meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache"> <meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-store"> <meta name=description content="This is a Flash WebSite Developed using A4Desk
"> <meta name=keywords content=""> <title>Your Company Name, A4Desk</title> </head><body leftmargin=0 topmargin=0 marginwidth=0 marginheight=0><center><object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.ca b#version=6,0,0,0" width="100%" height="100%"> <param name=movie value="a4desk.swf"> <param name=quality value=high><param name="SCALE" value="showAll"><embed src="a4desk.swf" quality=high pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_ Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="100%" height="100%" scale="showAll"></embed></object> <A HREF="http://www.a4desk.com/?tt"><font size=-2 color="E8E8E8">Flash Template by A4Desk</font></A> </body></html>
It says I'm suppose to have all files in same folder, so i uploaded the highvelocities.html file and the a4desk.swf and then created a import folder in lowercase as they say to do and uploaded all files in the import folder to that folder as they say to do. The following is a direct paste from thier website FAQ.
After I publish the site to a folder, I uploaded files to my web server. I can see the flash , but its content is empty? ( at top )
Please ensure you also upload the <import> folder. And ensure the folder is named all in lower cases, i.e. "import", not "Import", or "IMPORT".
How to upload files to my server? ( at top )
To upload the files to your server, please make sure you have upload ALL the files to your server, INCLUDING the <IMPORT> folder which must be placed in the same folder as a4desk.swf.
Now I know this is long winded and I know enough about web design to realize that I dont have a =ref or something correct, but any help you can provide this noob idiot would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I have the money to buy a full blown flash program. But being a beginner which one do you all suggest, The entire Macromedia or Dreamweaver or another. I need something easy to work with at first then later after learning more about flash I can get something more expensive. Or would it be better to just go all out buy the best and most expensive first and get to cracking and learning from scratch with the best. Again long winded but thanks for any help.
