Subject: About The Gimp 2.0 2004-04-18 - By nospam
Back Bonjour,
Slightly off topic, apart post-processing matters : I recommend anyone to have a look at the new free Gimp 2.0. http://www.gimp.org/index.html
After testing on both linux and Windows 2000 it appears to offer a quantic jump compared to the previous versions (1.x) that were very unstable, notably on Windows OS.
The new one is much more stable (the Windows port is no longer a separate project but part of the main development project) and features are now roughly in par with Photoshop 6 feature set (while the paradigm is slightly different with a stronger emphasis on scripting).
Notably, the lack of support for CMYK images have been corrected.
