This looks like something that could be addressed using the UV editor
in the vm (i think).
In a nutshell you would select all the vetices that make up your wing
and then open up the editor.
Set the mapping to planar (z axis if you modeled the wing on the
floor plane).
Push and pull the points of your wing until they fit within the
colored part of your texture map and click ok.
That should do it for you.

Brian H has a 2 part tutorial on doing just this in the last 2 issues
of 3Dxtract.
