An Amapi import question. 2004-04-12 - By Jerry

Hello all,
Yesterday I exported a dxf model that was modeled in, VectorWorks 10
Mechanical, then exported as a, Simple Vectorscript (3D Only), file
which is a, StrataVision, format for import into any flavor of, Strata
3D. It imported perfectly and I messed with the geometry a little then
exported it from, Strata 3D 3.9(Mac), as an, Amapi, export. I then
tried to import it into, Carrara Studio 3, but even though, Carrara 3,
is supposed to be able to directly import, Amapi, native files it
didn't see it other than a grey file not recognizable by the import
filter.
Has anyone had this experience yet doing something along the same
lines? I have also exported the file from, Strata 3D 3.9, as a, dxf,
and that works just fine but I want to know why the, Amapi 3D, exported
file doesn't seem to be a valid file format to, Carrara 3.
