detecting the end of a stream on playback-- ---- ----any one?

I've done some searching on this and i have not found a cure...

Did anyone ever come up with a realy good function that can dsetect this? I
have tried and tried to come up with a system to catch the end of a stream.
i pull the time down from the server, i then compare it with the time passed
of the streaming flv and that isn't 100%. so i created a timer that would
count take the entire length of the flv - 10, attatched it to a var and
compared the time passed with that var, if so call function that is supposed
to play at the end of the flv(like a continue on to next section). but for
some reason it does not always fire, i test on three different systems and
it only happens to one. so i test and test.. still seams like such a long
work around.

is there a way to create a listener on the server side that will tell you
once the stream has ended(not counting pauses, stops, or lost conections)
and cause an action on the client side? these errors occuring are realy
starting to get on my nerves, every fix i come up with will cause some
unKnown error that is only veiwable on some machines... sorry if i  am not
making any sense, one very looooong day.

thanks,
Bob
