I made the mistake of developing my first Flash app using the frames
metaphor in MX2004 Pro. I have all sorts of nice tested code in
external AS2.0 classes.
Now I want to try developing the saIf a movie is loaded into a level inside the loaded movie '_root ' will
still refer to the same old _root (every level containing it 's own root).
What I don 't know is how the shared library behavesIn that case would I use 'loadmovie() ' ? And if I did this will this hurt
any reference I am using to _root? Is there a way to avoid that - other
than not using any references to _root?

everyone iEither A the movie is not compiling correctly because there is an error
and your just not seeing it in your Output window or B it 's being loaded
from another domain that your SWF does not have pOkay here is something else kind suspicious. My movies first frame creates
the new instance which in turn calls the method of an instance from the
main timeline to load remoting data. A flag is I 'm puzzled by the difference between making it an array versus making it an
object. I have yet to even dabble (knowingly) in the object world.
It looks like when you create it as an object you Hrm...
Well if your using Remoting make sure your not getting an onStatus or
onResult.
Also if your not using the above you could have a timing issue. Like
loadMovie is asyncronous therThis one is seriously driving me nuts/crazy/insane. I have tried everything
under the sun for about a day and a half and made no progress. I hope some
